PhD thesis at Basrah University discussed (The Relationship Between COVID-19 and the Development of Rheumatoid Arthritis from a Molecular Perspective)

Ph. D thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah (Potential Effect of Some Viral Infection on Arthritis Diseases), and showed the researcher's thesis (Maryam Hassan Sangour) 101 samples were analyzed using qPCR technology. Thesis aims to explore the potential relationship between COVID-19 (either infection or vaccination) and the development of rheumatoid arthritis, by assessing changes in the gene expression of six major immune genes. and concluded COVID-19 infection activates inflammatory pathways, and overexpression may be the initial factor that triggers a cascade of molecular changes leading to the development of the chronic inflammatory response associated with rheumatoid arthritis. Intensive studies on other immune diseases in infected and vaccinated individuals are recommended.
