The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Phenotype and Genotype Identification of Fungal Isolates in Otomycosis Patients with Emphasis on their Enzymatic Activity and Antifungal Sensitivity(

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Antifungal Drug Resistance in Otomycosis) by the graduate student Haider Abdul amair Ali .

The study aims: Isolation of fungal species, genetic identification of causative agents of external auditory canal infections, and detection of antifungal drug resistance in ear infections.

Included: Isolation of fungal species causing external auditory canal infection and identification of fungal species using morphological, biochemical and molecular methods, genetic detection of virulence factors of the pathogens, evaluation of antifungal susceptibility pattern, determination of the prevalence of azole drug resistance among fungal pathogens and detection of erg11 genes that encode antifungal resistance.
