In conjunction with the initiative of the prime minister to plant five million trees and palm trees, and in implementation of the plan of the Ministry of higher education and scientific research, the Deanship of the Faculty of science at the University of Basrah organized a campaign to plant trees on the occasion of the National Afforestation day inside the gardens of the Faculty of Science in the presence of the dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Imam Abdul Zahra, the administrative assistant dean, Dr. Raed Muslim Shaaban, the assistant dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Adnan Abdullah Hamad, and the assistant dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Adel Ali Abdul Hassan  with a number of teachers, staff and students in order to preserve the environment, expand green spaces, protect vegetation and provide a sustainable environment befitting the students and professors of the Faculty of science
