The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on studying the biodiversity of mammals.

The workshop aimed to identify the importance of mammals in ecosystems.

The workshop, which was lectured by Dr. Adel Fadhel Abbas, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, included explaining the differences between mammals, their presence and spread in the world, and how to collect information and data about them.

The workshop aimed to introduce researchers and those interested in the Iraqi environment to the different types of mammals in the environment of Basra Governorate and how to deal with them in the field.

The workshop recommended intensifying scientific research on this group of animals due to the scarcity of scientific research and studies about them.
