
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titeled Pseudomonas aeruginosa: The silent threat to our health ) by the graduate student Adyan Kareem Abd. The study aims to highlight the characteristics of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as a Multi Drug Resistant bacterium, and its potential to cause hospital-acquired infections due to its ability to form biofilms and produce dangerous toxins such as Exotoxin A and included a discussion of the various mechanisms that contribute to the bacterium’s antibiotic resistance, including type III secretion systems and drug efflux pumps.
