The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture on (Title : National Standards Guide for Accrediting Science Programs ). The lecture , presented by the lecturer Dr. Najwa Muhammad Jamil Ali and the lecture discussed the subject of the criteria for writing the self-evaluation of the department and developing the skills of teachers and students. The lecture aims to identify the factors for applying the criteria for the specializations of graduates of the Department of Life Sciences. The lecturer recommended

Setting national accreditation standards for bachelor’s degree programs in science colleges in all their specializations in order to ensure the quality of education in the field of pure and applied sciences in a way that meets the needs of the labor market , noting that the standards set are consistent with the international standards of the American Accreditation Institution ABET and the Royal Society of Chemistry  RSC .
