Professor Dr. Majid Abdulhameed Ibrahim participated in the Department of Biology, College of Science, University of Basrah, as a member and supervisor in the committee to discuss the master's thesis of the student Zainab Tariq Safi from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape, College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, entitled: The effect of hyaluronic acid and aluminum chloride on the regeneration of shoots of date palm, Barhi cultivar by in vitro.
Prof. Dr. Majid Abdulhameed Ibrahim explained that the thesis included several aspects, including a study to improve the micropropagation of date palm trees, the Barhi cultivar, using the shoot multiplication technique by adding the growth regulator hyaluronic acid or aluminum chloride to MS medium to increase the multiplication of callus and shoots to obtain plants in large numbers identical to this cultivar. The study concluded that adding hyaluronic acid or aluminum chloride to the MS medium gave positive and significant results compared to the control treatment.
