College of Science organizes a seminar on electrocoagulation technology and pollutant removal

The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the use of electrocoagulation in removing oil compounds and heavy metals from industrial wastewater.

The seminar, which was lectured by graduate student Zahraa Asif Shaaban, aims to apply electrocoagulation technology in treating industrial wastewater using iron and aluminum plates to reduce the percentage of oil compounds and heavy metals in polluted water.

The seminar discussed obtaining high removal rates at the acidic and neutral function values.

The study recommended using iron plates in treatment to obtain the best results.
