Master's thesis at the University of Basrah Looking for environmental change in the Saiba and FAO areas of southern Iraq

A master's thesis at the college of science at the University of Basrah examined a taxonomic and environmental study of microfossils in the AL-Siba and Al-Faw regions of southern Iraq. The thesis presented by the student Haider Mohammed Jali aims to know the texture of sediments, to know the percentage of total organic carbon TOC%, to know Environmental Change, and to diagnose and classify the most important modern fossils in the modern era. The thesis included a paleontological and sedimentological study of the modern epoch (Holocene). The letter concluded an environmental change represented by a Marine advance that occurred at a depth of 3.5 meters in the Saiba area, as indicated by certain types of invertebrate fossils. The letter recommends a more in-depth study to find out the extent of marine progress, as well as the use of radioisotopes to accurately determine the age of sediments.
