A teaching article was published in the College of Science on eye diseases and air pollution


A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Environmental Science, published an article entitled Eye Diseases, the Hidden Air Pollution Problem
The article included an explanation of the most prominent air pollutants and that they are the direct cause of serious eye diseases due to them being in direct contact with the pollutants, and also an explanation of the dangers of passive smoking, which leads to deterioration of air quality inside buildings and its effects.
The article was published in the Iraqi “sky” news agency, which outlined how to protect eyes, including wearing glasses for researchers in laboratories, imposing penalties on construction projects in the event of exceeding the permissible dust, and planting empty spaces on the sides of the road.
