The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar on microplastics and their health and environmental impacts.

  The seminar, in which the graduate student (Master’s) Doaa Muhammad Ali lectured, aimed to investigate the presence of microplastic materials and determine their quantities and types in the water and sediments of the Shatt al-Arab.

  The episode included an introductory overview of plastic, its common types, sources, dangers, and effects on humans, aquatic organisms, and the environment.
