Master's discussion at the University of Basrah on the analysis of minerals and rock formations and their impact on the petrophysical properties of the Zubair formation in the lahais oil field, southern Iraq

The Department of geoscience at the Faculty of Science discussed a master thesis entitled analysis of minerals and rock formations and their impact on the petrophysical properties of the upper shale member of the Zubair formation in the lahais oil field, southern Iraq. The study presented by the researcher nuralhudi Yahya Ibrahim al-Nour included the mineral and magic effects on the reservoir properties of the upper member of the register. The study aimed at analyzing the petrophysical properties of the region, in addition to studying minerals, analyzing the inclusions and their effects on the oil reservoir. The results reached the identification of oil producing reservoirs and reservoirs affected by the nature of sedimentary deposits and clay minerals that led to the deterioration of reservoir properties. The study recommended increasing drilling in areas with hydrocarbon saturation in sandstone layers, especially at the top of the fold .
