Discussion of PhD thesis at the University of Basrah entitled Some Nanostructure/PMMA for All-Nanophotonic Switching Devices

A PhD thesis titled     Preparation, Characterization, and Nonlinear Optical Properties of Some Nanostructure/PMMA for All-Nanophotonic Switching Devices

was defended at the College of Science, Department of Physics on ) May 5, 2024 ), for the PhD Candidate Hadeel Najim Abd Jasim. The thesis aims to explore new all-nanophotonic switching devices under a pump laser beam based on their ability to control the interaction between light and material at the nanoscale. The switching mechanisms described in this thesis can be applied towards a new type of device that operates at higher speed and efficiency, surpassing those of their electronic counterpart. The device's performance can be optimized according to different working conditions to meet the requirements for all-nanophotonic switching.
