The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on assessing the risks of visible and invisible air pollutants as part of a skills development program for graduate students.

The workshop aimed to introduce students to the most important visible and invisible air pollutants in Basra Governorate, their sources and interactions.

The workshop, in which Professor Dr. Makiya Muhalhal Khalaf Al-Hajjaj lectured, included assessing the effects of environmental and health pollutants using the Air Pollution Index (AQI).

The workshop recommended taking appropriate measures to reduce air pollution, activating laws related to environmental safety, and holding violators accountable.
