Dr. Najah Abboud Hussein, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, participated in the biodiversity workshop in the East Hammar marsh, which was held in the College of Agriculture.

Participation included giving a lecture on the presence of environmental biota in the marshes of eastern Al Hamar.

The lecture included knowledge of the numbers and spread of fish, bacteria, and a number of mammals and amphibians in the marshes, comparing the numbers with other countries, and studies that included this diversity.
