A teacher at the University of Basra participates in the fourteenth patent conference on two patents in the State of Kuwait

The lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Najwa Muhammad Jamil Ali Abu Majdad, participated in the fourteenth conference on patents for two patents, which was joined by Kuwait University.

Patent conferences are important for several reasons, some of which are as follows:

1- It encourages investment in research and development, as inventors know that their innovations will receive the necessary protection.

2- Promoting innovation and technology:

The patent system encourages creative thinking and innovation in various fields, acting as an incentive for individuals and companies to develop new technology.

3- Encouraging investment and business:

The presence of a strong patent system enhances the confidence of investors and companies that investment in research and development will be rewarded through legal protection. Stimulating technological exchange and enhancing international cooperation:

His teaching participation aims to: submit two patents, the first for the production of two flavonoid antibacterials from yeasts, while the second is for the production of beta-carotenoids from two colorful yeasts from Iraqi soil and their use as antifungals against pathogenic fungi.

The conference included a review of ways to enhance cooperation between the industrial and academic sectors to develop and accelerate research and innovation processes. Patents in specific sectors: Discussing the ethical and legal challenges related to patents, such as issues of ethics in the use of technology. Innovation experiences and successes: Sharing success stories of inventors and companies in developing and marketing new inventions.
