Master’s discussion at the University of Basrah on the diagnosis of mineralogy and swelling properties of clay soils in selected sites in the city of Al-Faw

The Department of Earth Sciences at the College of Science organized a seminar entitled Diagnosing the mineralogy and swelling properties of clay soils in selected locations in Al-Faw and stabilizing them using nano-calcium carbonate. The seminar, in which researcher Haneen Nazim Abdel Amir lectured, aimed to use nanocalcium carbonate as a new and developed technology and mix it with Nora in different proportions to determine the best stability rate for stabilizers. The study included an improvement method using Nora and nanocalcium carbonate additives. The results concluded that there was a noticeable improvement. In the behavior of treated soil. The study recommends the use of nano-calcium carbonate to improve the geotechnical properties of swollen soil because it is an environmentally friendly material and has a low economic cost.
