The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on astronomical observation at the Scientific Forum of the Scientific Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Basra Branch. The workshop aimed to educate a group of young people about the importance of astronomical observation.

The workshop, which was lectured by Dr. Doha  Mahmood Mansoor gave an explanation of the planetarium, the types of telescopes and color filters, and their importance in astronomical observation. There was a practical aspect of observing the moon and the planets close to it.
