The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Effect of the fungal extracts against multidrug resistant bacteria)

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Molecular insights of different fungal extracts against methicillin resistant S. aureus and multidrug resistant gram-negative bacteria) by the graduate student Ahmed Mshari The study aims to find effective compounds against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The study included extracting, purifying and detection the active compounds from yeasts and evaluation the effect against number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and the study was recommended

• Molecular approaches are widely recommended for quick diagnosis of pathogenic bacteria and detection the resistance genes.

• The use of new antibiotics should be highly selective and not used for a long time to prevent the onset of secondary infections with Multiple drug resistance (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) strains.

• The use of genetic engineering and cloning methods to increase the production of the active compounds in order to use them as therapeutic alternatives.
