University of Basra organizes a workshop on (climate changes and their relationship to the spread of diseases):

The College of Science at Basra University joined a workshop on (Climate change and antibiotic resistance: a deadly combination), which was presented by (Prof. Dr. Salwa Abdel-Zahra Abdel-Jaleel and M. M. Alia Ahmed Al-Badr / Department of biology). The workshop aimed to give an idea about climate changes on The spread of various diseases, whether caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites. The workshop included clarifying the relationship between climate changes and the spread of these diseases, or the pathogens and vectors of some diseases, and the corresponding increase in the emergence of resistance of these pathogens to antibiotics. The workshop also showed that there are many countries and regions suffering from these diseases. Extreme climate changes, such as high temperatures and the accompanying decrease in rainfall, drought, hurricanes, and floods. Iraq is considered one of the countries exposed to climate change, and this in turn is reflected in the spread of diseases and resistance to antibiotics. The workshop recommended the necessity of developing solutions to this dangerous phenomenon by reducing pollution. Environmental pollutants and their treatment. And cooperate with other countries in these treatments before they increase in the near future.
