A lecturer at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, in the Department of Ecology, published an article entitled The Impact of Wars on the Environment

The article included an explanation of the environmental deterioration at the Arab and global levels, which has reached the point of danger due to nuclear tests, mobile wars, the use of chemical and biological weapons, the impact of the development of nuclear weapons during World War II, radioactivity and its huge quantities and wastes in water sources and soil.
