The College of Science at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Center and Durrat Al-Khaleej Company for the Production and Bottling of Healthy Water, organized a symposium to raise awareness against breast cancer in the central conference hall.

The symposium aims to introduce participants to the danger of cancer, learn about its causes, the importance of early screening, the method of examination, and the importance of treatment. The symposium included the first lectures on breast cancer and social awareness, delivered by Dr. Sondos Baqir Dawoud.

The second, about the importance of early screening for breast cancer, a necessity for your life, was delivered by Dr. Sawsan Abdel Razzaq

Dr. Raya Habib Abdel Imam also gave a lecture on (surgical treatment of breast cancer)

Dr. Hisham Hussein Raouf gave a lecture on (imaging methods used in diagnosing breast cancer)

At the conclusion of the symposium, some awareness leaflets were distributed to the attendees. In conclusion, I recommended the importance of periodic examination every six months and spreading awareness of the examination among segments of society, especially women.
