The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a tree planting campaign in collaboration with the department's head, Dr. Wafaa Saadoun Shani, and a group of faculty members and department students. The campaign aimed to plant a variety of evergreen trees and seasonal agricultural seedlings in the front gardens of the department. This initiative is intended to expand the green areas of the college, promote and encourage student volunteer work in tree planting, given its positive impact on creating a healthy environment, improving the overall ecosystem, and reducing pollution. This campaign is part of a series of periodic initiatives undertaken by the college to support and implement planned projects aimed at increasing green spaces, enhancing the beauty of the college gardens, and ensuring their sustainability.
