(A panel discussion at the University of Basrah on (Evaluation of environmental pollution by heavy metals in the water and sediment of Al-Ezz River, north of Basrah

A seminar entitled (Evaluation of environmental pollution by heavy metals in the water and sediment of Al-Ezz River, north of Basra). Hold at the College of Science, Geology Department. The presenter Shatha Abdulhasan Shnaishel  demonstrates the most important objectives of studying (Assessment of water and sediment pollution in the river with heavy metals and the preparation of a database for future reference.), The results reached the highest total organic carbon values were recorded during the summer season, while the lowest values were observed during the autumn season. The study area consists of greasy clay sediments. According to the geochemical accumulation factor values, the sediments in the Al-Ezz River are heavily polluted with lead and cadmium, moderately polluted to non-polluted with copper, and non-polluted with manganese, zinc, and cobalt. The environment is moderately polluted with cobalt.
