The Department of Geology at the College of Science, University of Basrah organized a field work trip to Dohuk Governorate. The trip aims to apply all the theoretical information that was taught to students during their scientific career in the department and apply the practical foundations in the field. The first day of the field work included a comprehensive reconnaissance tour to the field sites and a general explanation of the geological, structural and rock stratigraphic sequence of the region. The day also included giving theoretical evening lectures in the afternoon to train students on the practical, structural aspect and the method of taking field measurements, in addition to explaining the geology of the development of formations and their rocks.
