
The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled discussion on "the relationship between fungi in the air and fungal infections in cancer patients. By postgraduate student Zahraa Daoud Katea
The study was found in the investigation of fungal infections of cancer patients in the Children's Specialist Hospital and the Oncology center by diagnosing fungi isolated from the air and from cancer by means of conventional and advanced diagnosis, and study of virulence factors for diagnosed fungi and conducting a sensitivity test for them as well.
The study recommends conducting other studies during certain periods of the year to detect the level of fungal contamination in the hospital environment, especially cancer patients, as well as developing cleaning and sterilization devices for the surfaces surrounding the patient, such as beds and tables.
