Mr. Moataz Hikmat Othman, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, gave a television interview to the "utv" satellite station.

The interview showed the percentage of pollution in the air of Basra Governorate as a result of gaseous emissions resulting from oil installations, oil extraction and car exhausts.

The interview on World Environment Day explained how to find appropriate solutions to rectify the environmental situation in the governorate by establishing a link between decision makers, professors and researchers specializing in the environment.

The interview recommended raising health awareness among citizens and using modern studies to avoid the risk of environmental pollution.
