A master's thesis discusses the evaluation of the water quality of the Al-Ashar River

A master's thesis in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra discusses the evaluation of the water quality of the Al-Ashar River in Basra Governorate, southern Iraq.

The researcher Adyan Ali Kahami's thesis included a study of some physical, chemical and biological properties and some heavy metals and macronutrients of the waters of the Al-Ashar River channel, one of the side branches that penetrates the city of Basra.

The study aimed to compare these characteristics with previous studies. Al-Ashar canal was rehabilitated and a regulator was erected on the canal.

The study recommended preserving the environment of the Al-Ashar River, establishing sewage treatment plants, and re-establishing the project of linking the Al-Ashar channel with the Al-Khandaq channel, dredging the canal and all channels.
