The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a scientific trip for students of the aquatic plants course for students of the fourth stage of the morning study.

  The visit was to the tissue culture research station and the Al-Hartha nursery of the Basra Agriculture Directorate. The plant species cultivated there were viewed and the students were introduced to them and their reproduction methods.

The visit took place under the supervision of Dr. Widad Mezban Taher, Department of Ecology, and Dr. Jihad Makki Majeed, Marine Sciences Center, to enrich the practical side and learn about the nature of propagation and growth methods of mangroves, which are important in reducing pollution and salinity.
