The University of Basrah hold a seminar on (Petrophysical Analysis and Flow Units Determination of Zubair Reservoir of South Rumaila Oilfield, Southern Iraq).

A seminar entitled (Petrophysical Analysis and Flow Units Determination of Zubair Reservoir of South Rumaila Oilfield, Southern Iraq). Hold at the College of Science, Geology Department. The presenter (Heba Ahmed Hanoon) demonstrates the most important objectives of studying (Analyze and study the petrophysical properties of the Upper Sand Member of the Zubair Formation in the southern Rumaila field, conduct a Statistical Analysis of the petrophysical properties, and determine the flow units and their impact on the reservoir units and their distribution over the field).

The results reached (The wells of the study indicated good hydrocarbon reservoirs due to the improvement of the reservoir properties, and the best reservoir unit is DJ in terms of porosity and oil saturation, and that the study wells are reservoirs of heterogeneity. The Upper Sand Member was divided into four clusters or Facies based on logs data (Sand, Shaly Sand, Sandy Shale, Shale) and the results showed that the study wells have four to five flow units, and the pore-throat size ranged between Mega-Meso). The study recommends (the use of modern NMR-Imager logs to give more accurate results and link them to the basic logs, and preparing a detailed study on clay minerals and knowing their types.)
