Master Thesis / Basraha University to be discussed Physiological effects of chemotherapy for leukemia patients

A master's thesis at the faculty of The College of Science at the University of Basrah (Physiological effects and drug sensitivity in Febrile Neutropenic Patients Treated with Chemotherapy at Basrah Center of Oncology and Hematology),
and showed the researcher's thesis (Huda Abdul karem Shalal).
Thesis aims to toxic side effect of chemotherapy on neutropenia and the cause of neutropenic fever, which is the main cause of morbidity and mortality. Determining the physiological effect of neutropenic fever by measurement C-reactive protein and determining the type of pathogenic microorganisms and drug sensitivity of these microorganisms were determined.
and concluded The neutropenic fever is the main cause of morbidity and death. Early use of broad-spectrum antibiotics with an empirical regimen is important for management in the case of neutropenic fever after taking a blood sample for culture and drug sensitivity. The use of meropenem or imipenem with aminoglycoside showed an effective effect for most cases. C-reactive protein is a useful biomarker for diagnosis and prognostication of the severity of the disease and could be indicator of death.
and recommended Early access to blood sample for culture and drug sensitivity to identify the causative microorganisms and use of appropriate treatment Supporting health procedures when providing medical care to reduce nosocomial infections Higher evaluation and deeping analysis of negative samples to help identify causative microorganisms.
