A memorial ceremony was held in the Department of Earth Sciences at the College of Science for the late student Sarah Haidar Gaidel, who died in an unfortunate traffic accident. The memorial ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Jalal Jabbar Hassan, and the head of the Geological Department, Dr. Ali Khaled Abbas, and a gathering of professors, employees, and students of the department. The ceremony included a reading  Verses from the Holy Qur’an and lighting candles, following the spirit of the forgiven, God willing
