A scientific study in the College of Science looking for hydrocarbons in some plant species

A scientific study prepared by Dr. Makiya Mohalhal Khalaf in the Department of Ecology in partnership with Dr. Hamza Abdel-Hassan Kazim in the Department of Gelogy at the College of Science and Dr. Hamed Taleb Al-Saad in the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basra examined polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in some plant species in the oil field in West Qurna, southern Iraq.

The study, which was published in the "Jordan Journal of Biological Science", classified within the Scopus containers Q2 showed that the collection of samples from some types of terrestrial plants in three stations in the West Qurna oil field during the period from January 2018 to December 2018.

The results of the study reached to determine the levels of the components of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the types of oil field plants by extracting and counting the aromatic components of the plants.
