
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (bacterial prevalence associated with urinary tract infection in diabetic pregnant women ) by the graduate student Amna Ali Nasir :- The study aims to study the relationship between bacterial infection associated with urinary tract infections in both diabetic and non diabetic pregnant women. The study includes a definition of urinary tract infections, the most important types of pathogenic bacteria and types of infections according to the location in the urinary tract. Moreover the seminar involved a definition of diabetes mellitus and there different types, the incidence of diabetes in pregnant women, the links between the incidence of diabetes in pregnant women and the frequency of their infection with urinary tract infections, comparison by reviewing previous studies between the frequency of bacterial prevalence among urinary tract infection in pregnant women with diabetic and non diabetic. The study was recommended to determine the virulence factors of the predominant bacteria by studying the genes responsible for virulence factors.
