A scientific book has been published for the two teachers in the Faculty of Science about parasitic plants

The teachers of the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Dr. Abd al-Ridha Akbar Alwan and Dr. Wedad Mizban Taher, have issued a book entitled Parasitic Plants.

The book, which included 370 pages and was divided into 14 chapters, dealt with the biological characteristics of parasites, which included seed, germination, life cycle, protrusions, suckers and their development, phenotypic, anatomical and physiological characteristics, evolutionary and environmental relations, parasitic jungles, methods of combating them, and classification of parasitic plants with a color atlas.

The book is one of the supporting books that are taught in the faculties of science and agriculture for students of primary and higher studies, according to the approval of the Deans’ Committee in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
