The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Effect of some plant extracts on the larval vitality of the hydatid cyst parasite in and out of vivo.....) by the graduate student Haneen abdalkarim. .The study aims to conduct a preliminary study to test the effect of some raw plant extracts such as turmeric roots and black pepper fruits on the larval phases of the parasite outside vivo and
Separation, isolation and diagnosis of plant extracts that have the greatest impact on larval phases in the laboratory.Isolation and diagnosis of some components, study of the effect of isolated and diagnosed active compounds on larval phases outside vivo, study of toxic effects of active compounds on laboratory mice as well as a pathological tissue study of affected organs in laboratory mice with parasites and treatment with isolated compounds and and the study was recommended  further studies on turmeric and black pepper extracts to be used as an alternative treatment to standard chemotherapy when treating Hydatidosis disease, as well as an expanded applied study on the possibility of using the mixture of curcumin and piperine under study in treating  Hydatidosis disease infections and identifying side effects from use on volunteers as well as
as well as extensive studies aimed at separating and purifying the active compounds in the study plants and testing the efficacy of each compound on different pathogens
