The Department of Geology, College of Science, discussed a doctoral thesis entitled (Integration of Petrophysics and the Seismic Inverse to Evaluate the Zubair Reservoir). Researcher Wissam Hadi Mahos' thesis aims at integrating petrophysical models with seismic inverses in a single framework for the evaluation of reservoirs and interpretation of geysers and the content of subsurface fluids.
The study included the use of seismic inverse and HRS programs for the first time at the University of Basrah, analysis of well data, building a geological model using Techlog and Petrel programs, and integration of information extracted from seismic inversion and well sensors in the evaluation of the Zubair oil reservoir, and the results were in great agreement with the data of the core in the study area.
