The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science at the University of Basra conducted a competitive examination for applicants for postgraduate studies for the academic year 2022-2023, amid streamlined procedures. The number of applicants reached 64, while the number of examinees was 20 for PhD and 28 for masters, while the number of absences was 6. The examination was conducted under the direct supervision of the Deanship of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Mowaffaq Fadhel Al-Shahwan, the Assistant Administrative Dean, Dr. Majed Nouri, and the Head of the Biology Department, Dr. Karim. After completing the exam, an interview was conducted for the postgraduate applicants by the formed committee tasked with interviewing the postgraduate applicants.
