The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion on (The Histological and Physiological Effect of Glutamine on Induced Hypothyroidism in Laboratory Rats) for graduate student Mai Khairallah Ali.  As well as evaluating the effect of hypothyroidism on the level of iron and ferritin and explaining the relationship between hypothyroidism and iron deficiency anemia, as well as measuring biochemical indicators related to thyroid function such as (T4, TSH) liver enzymes such as ALT, AST) and total bilirubin and monitoring them to assess liver damage as well  Examination of histopathological changes associated with hypothyroidism of thyroid tissue and liver.
