The University of Basrah hold a seminar on Depositional environments of Sa’adi Formation in Southern Iraq.

A seminar entitled (Depositional environments of Sa’adi Formation in Southern Iraq  . Hold at the College of Science, Geology Department. The presenter Adyan A. Myzban  demonstrates the most important objectives of studying (this study focused on the depositional environment, reservoir behaviour, and predicting the favourable environment with a higher oil production rat. According to petrographic studies, the lower Sa‘adi Formation has 12 carbonate microfacies associated with three facies: middle ramp in unit C and lower unit B, inner ramp open marine in upper unit B and lower unit A, and shoal in upper unit A. Thus, these facies reflected the system of shallowing upwards, which these facies of this paleoenvironment are evidence of the regression in the lower sadi formation. The deposition environment was articulated as part of the homocline ramp.
