The Department of Geology at the College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific trip for the students of the Iraq Geology course and some postgraduate students under the supervision of the head of the Department of Geology Dr. Alaa Mohsen Al-Abadi, and Dr. Wathiq Ghazi, teacher of the Iraq Geology course, in cooperation with the Director of the General Authority for Ground Water, Mr. Ahmed Hashush, in which the geology of the region was identified in detail in terms of composition, sedimentation, and stratigraphy and the most important formations in it and the application of theoretical matters in terms of using the compass and reading the map in the field
