The University of Basra organizes a seminar entitled (Fibronectin and its role in normal and cancer cells)

The College of Science at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled (Fibronectin and its role in normal and cancer cells) by the graduate student Zainab Abdul-Wahid Shaye. The study aims  is to  investigate the relationship between one of the outer matrix proteins, fibronectin, and its important role in normal cells, as it has an important role in cell adhesion, migration and differentiation, as well as in wound healing and embryogenesis. This protein is found in body cells as well as in fluids such as blood plasma and saliva in addition to its important role in cancer cells  It plays a key role in the development of the tumor, as it helps to accumulate collagen in the micro-tumor environment, and thus an increase in the hardening of tumors. and included  Targeting the fibronectin protein for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors by exploring binding factors targeting fibronectin for radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and fluorescence imaging.  Targeting it directly and reducing its production and accumulation or using vaccine viruses for ovarian cancer patients that target it directly or targeting its synthesis or accumulation as alternatives to chemotherapy and thus inhibiting blood vessel formation and cancer growth
