The College of Science organizes a workshop on biodiversity degradation

The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Mowafaq Fadel Al-Shahwan, and headed by Dr. Mustafa Abdel-Wahab Najm, Head of the Department of Ecology, organized a workshop on the deterioration of biodiversity in the East Hammar Marsh, its causes and treatments.

The workshop aims to identify the biodiversity of plants and animals in the east of the Hammar Marsh and the extent of its deterioration, and to determine the factors affecting the deterioration of diversity and what are the solutions to revive life in this region.

The workshop included the participation of lecturers and students of the Department, in the presence of a number of participants interested in biodiversity.

A number of scientific lectures on the topic of the workshop were delivered, prepared by lecturers and researchers.
