College of Science/ Biology departments organized a talk within the regular discussion sessions for postgraduate students. The presentation was introduced by a Master student Ali Ahmad under the supervision of Assist Prof. Dr Ayat Al-laeeiby. The talk was considered master dissertation work title (Study the genetic polymorphisms of glutathione S-transferase genes (GSTM1, GTT1 & GSTP1) associated with the susceptibility to male infertility.

This study aimed to investigate the association of GSTs genes (GSTM1, GTT1 & GSTP1) with male infertility. On the other hand, the effect of GSTs genes (GSTM1, GTT1 & GSTP1) on sperm parameters. 

The recommendations included the importance to extend the study to involve others genes. The research will enhance our understand of the mechanism of male infertility to improve medications. Underline the importance to strengthen the cooperation between academics and Basrah health institute.
