A seminar entitled the assessment of air and soil pollution by hydrocarbons in the Zubair oil field, south of Basra Governorate hold at the Department of Ecology at the College of Science.

The student, Salam Muhammad Abd demonstrates the  problems of oil pollution in Basra Governorate and the oil fields that produce air pollutants or extend their impact to the soil.

The study aims to monitor gaseous air pollution associated with oil production and the impact of oil pollution on the soil.

The study recommended the extraction of hydrocarbon pollutants from the soil at different depths to determine the concentration of hydrocarbons in it.
