The lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Dr. Wedad Mizban Taher, participated in the discussion of a master's thesis by student Ahlam Hussein Farhoud, tagged "Study of alkaloid compounds in the Solanum family and their impact on some microorganisms", which was held by the College of Science at Dhi Qar University.

It was discussed the effect of alkaloid and hexane extracts of Lycinm and Solanum Melongena on bacteria isoliated from wounds of eczema patients and their comparison with some antibiotics.
